Pray for Our World
Daily Reading: Exodus 9, Psalm 59, Acts 15, Proverbs 28
When the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding; but when the wicked perish, the righteous thrive.
Proverbs 28:28
I woke up this morning, like many other people around the world, to the news that the United States and Israel have launched widespread attacks against Iran and that Iran has retaliated throughout the Middle East.
I am not going to pretend to be an expert on the Iranian regime, the thought process that went into this strike, or the ramifications moving forward. There will be lots of debate in the coming days on the wisdom of this decision. I have my own opinions on this, but I don’t believe now if the right time for half formed opinions with minimal information.
Today will be one of my shortest blogs ever.
I would just encourage anyone reading this to pray for our world.
There are so many leaders, in countries across the globe, that prioritize their own personal gain and staying in power, over what is best for their people.
We are living through a time of incredible instability.
In times like these it is more important than ever that followers of Jesus pray for our world.
We read in Psalm 59 today:
I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble. You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.
Psalm 59:15-16
You are my fortress Lord. Our world needs your strength.
